The compelling collection includes magnificent representations of the values and ideals our service men and women fought to protect. Join us in celebration of the bravery, courage, and sacrifice of Americans who stood together to preserve our way of life.
End of World War II 75th Anniversary 24-Karat Gold Coin and Silver Medal
As companion pieces to the American Eagle coins, these End of World War II 75th Anniversary program products are beautifully minted in 24-karat gold and 99.9 percent silver. The coin and medal feature one of the most meaningful designs created by United States Mint artists. The obverse design of an eagle in flight grasping an olive branch, symbolizing peace, in its right talon. The design is inspired by the 1945 version of the Great Seal of the United States, while the reverse design echoes the sun element featured on the obverse of the 1945 World War II Victory Medal. The sun from that medal has, 75 years later, risen to noon day brilliance, shining on the symbolic olive branches on the left.
