The American Presidency $1 Coin Cover Series showcases the Presidential $1 Coins. The 2013 William McKinley $1 Coin Cover is the 25th issue in the series, which began in 2007.
This limited-edition cover – only 20,000 produced – features two William McKinley $1 Coins from the first day of production at the U.S. Mint facilities at Philadelphia (December 11, 2012) and Denver (October 3, 2012).
The coins are mounted on a display card inside an envelope with one of the four U.S. Four Flags (Forever®) stamps. The cover also features a portrait of President McKinley, and a postmark of March 19, 2013, Canton, OH, marks the day the William McKinley $1 Coin Cover was issued by the U.S. Mint.
These coins display large, dramatic artwork and edge-incused inscriptions of the year of minting or issuance, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and the mint mark. Each coin features a likeness of President William McKinley and has a common reverse (tails) design featuring a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty.
The design inscriptions on the obverse (heads) of the 2013 William McKinley $1 Coin are:
- “WILLIAM McKINLEY”
- “IN GOD WE TRUST”
