The William Howard Taft 2013 limited-edition cover – only 20,000 will be produced – features two William Howard Taft $1 Coins from the first day of production at the U.S. Mint facilities at Philadelphia (February 11, 2013) and Denver (February 6, 2013).
The coins are mounted on a display card inside an envelope with a U.S. Patriotic Star stamp. The cover also features a portrait of President Taft, and the postmark of August 6, 2013, Cincinnati, OH, marks the day the William Howard Taft $1 Coin Cover was issued by the US Mint.
These coins display large, dramatic artwork and edge-incused inscriptions of the year of minting or issuance, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and the mint mark. Each coin features a likeness of Taft and has a common reverse (tails) design featuring a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty.
