2012 United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal Set™ – Chester Arthur (XN6)
This unique product includes an uncirculated Chester Arthur Presidential $1 Coin and an Alice Paul and the Suffrage Movement Bronze Medal. The Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005 contains a provision to provide continuity of the First Spouse Gold Coin Program during those times in which a President served without a First Spouse. Chester Arthur did not have a spouse while he served as President. The Presidential $1 Coin Act specifies that a likeness of suffragist Alice Paul, born during Arthur’s term, appear on the obverse of the First Spouse Gold Coin accompanying his term, and that an image emblematic of the women’s suffrage movement appears on the reverse. This is a likeness of the Alice Paul and the Suffrage Movement First Spouse Gold Coin. The coin and medal are held in a durable plastic card enhanced with beautiful representations of the President’s and Alice Paul’s portraits, with issuance information on the back.
