The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe Code Talkers Bronze Medal is a bronze duplicate of the Congressional Gold Medal presented at a ceremony on May 28, 2016, in recognition of its members’ dedication and valor. The medal measures three inches in diameter and is minted at the Philadelphia Mint.
The obverse design features a World War II code talker, a snipe, and the principal clans of the Mohawk Tribe—a bear, a wolf, and a snapping turtle. It is inscribed with “AKWESASNE MOHAWK CODE TALKERS.” The reverse design features a profiled figure, a Mohawk kustowa headdress, a bear claw necklace, a war club, and a Mohawk Wolf Belt. Inscriptions are “WORLD WAR I,” “WORLD WAR II,” and “ACT OF CONGRESS 2008.”
