Collect the three-coin set of 2014 Shenandoah National Park Quarters – one each from the Denver, San Francisco and Philadelphia Mints. The Shenandoah National Park Quarter is the second to be released in 2014 and the 22nd overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program.
The reverse (tails) design depicts a day hiker taking in the view from Little Stony Man summit. Inscriptions are “SHENANDOAH,” “VIRGINIA,” “2014,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
Each three-coin set features an uncirculated quarter from the U.S. Mint at Philadelphia, an uncirculated quarter from the U.S. Mint at Denver, and a proof quarter from the U.S. Mint at San Francisco with images specific to each national site. The coins are held in a durable plastic card that features a picturesque image and a brief description of the site and the coin, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity on the back of the card.
Just 75 miles from Washington, D.C., Shenandoah National Park is an escape for travelers wanting a wide range of recreational adventures. It features cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas, and quiet wooded hollows suitable for hiking, meandering along Skyline Drive, or picnicking with family or friends. It is a haven for deer and songbirds. It was first established as a national site on May 22, 1926 (44 Stat. 616).
