The Ponca Tribe Code Talkers Bronze Medal commemorates an important piece of World War II and American history.
This medal is a bronze duplicate of the Congressional Gold Medal awarded to Ponca Tribe Code Talkers at a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol Building on November 20, 2013, in recognition of their dedication and valor.
The obverse design features two Code Talkers in action with Chief White Eagle, a respected leader of the Ponca Tribe, in the background. It is inscribed “PONCA TRIBE CODE TALKERS.”
The reverse design features a variation of the Ponca Tribe seal, which consists of three clustered tipis with the sun behind them. Inscriptions are “ACT OF CONGRESS 2008,” “WORLD WAR I” and “WORLD WAR II.”
