The 3 Inch Ponca Tribe Code Talkers Bronze Medal commemorates an important piece of World War II and American history.
This medal is a bronze duplicate of the Congressional Gold Medal awarded to Ponca Tribe Code Talkers at a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol Building on November 20, 2013, in recognition of their dedication and valor. The medal measures three inches in diameter.
The obverse design features two Code Talkers in action with Chief White Eagle, a respected leader of the Ponca Tribe, in the background. It is inscribed “PONCA TRIBE CODE TALKERS.”
The reverse design features a variation of the Ponca Tribe seal, which consists of three clustered tipis with the sun behind them. Inscriptions are “ACT OF CONGRESS 2008,” “WORLD WAR I” and “WORLD WAR II.”
