Commemorating the contributions of Sequoyah, inventor of the Cherokee Syllabary, the reverse (tails) design features a profiled likeness of Sequoyah writing “Sequoyah from Cherokee Nation” in syllabary along the border of the design. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES of AMERICA” “$1,” and “Sequoyah” written in English in the field of the design.
Please Note: United States Mint coins are rolled by an automated machine process and not by hand. We cannot guarantee that the obverse (heads) or reverse of a coin will be at either end of a coin roll.
