This medal is a smaller bronze duplicate of the Congressional Gold Medal awarded to Muscogee Creek Nation Code Talkers at a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol Building on November 20, 2013, in recognition of their dedication and valor.
The obverse design features a Code Talker speaking on his field phone. The inscription is “MUSCOGEE CREEK NATION CODE TALKERS.”
The reverse design depicts lacrosse sticks and a ball. Lacrosse is recognized as a sport that evolved from Native American games played for training, recreation, religious reasons and settling issues. Inscriptions are “WORLD WAR II” and “ACT OF CONGRESS 2008.”
