The 2014 First Spouse Series One–Half Ounce Gold Uncirculated Coin — Lou Hoover is the third coin released in 2014 in the First Spouse Gold Coin Series and features First Lady Lou Hoover. It is a one–half ounce 24–karat gold coin minted with an uncirculated finish, giving it a satin–like appearance.
The obverse (heads) features a portrait of Lou Hoover.
The reverse (tails) depicts a 1920s-era radio, representing Mrs. Hoover becoming the first, First Lady to deliver a public radio address to Americans.
This coin is encapsulated and packaged in a custom–designed, highly polished, dome–chested, lacquered hardwood presentation case and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
