Visionary, Leader, and Beacon of Liberty

Most of us know Harriet Tubman as one of the most recognized figures from the era of the Underground
Railroad. After freeing herself from slavery, Tubman became a conductor risking her life guiding around
70 people to freedom. Tubman went on to serve as a nurse, scout, and spy for the Union
Army during the Civil War. After the Civil War, until her death in 1913, she lived a life committed to freedom and dignity for all people.
