Surcharges in the amount of $35 for $5 gold coin sold; $10 for each silver dollar sold; and $5 for each half
dollar sold – totaling $50 for each three-coin set sold – are authorized to be provided to the non-profit
Friends of the National World War II Memorial to support the National Park Service in maintaining and
repairing the National World War II Memorial, and for educational and commemorative programs.

The United States Mint’s numismatic programs are self-sustaining and operate at no cost to the taxpayer.

Symbolizing America’s Spirit, Sacrifice,
and Triumph

Since 2004, the National World War II memorial has honored the 16 million who served in the
United States Armed Forces, the more than 400,000 who died, and all those who supported the war
effort back home through the joining of the workforce, planting of “victory gardens”, and rationing. By
preserving this Memorial, we teach the lessons of yesterday and unite the generations of tomorrow.

With designs showcasing the Memorial’s Wall of Stars and a reimagining of the figure of Liberation
from the World War II Victory Medal, we invite you to explore the stories behind each coin’s unique
design in this new 2024 commemorative collection.
