“FORE!” your collection, the 1.5 Inch Arnold Palmer Bronze Medal is a smaller bronze duplicate of the Congressional Gold Medal awarded to Arnold Palmer at a ceremony in the U.S. Capitol Building on September 12, 2012, in recognition of his service to the Nation in promoting excellence and good sportsmanship in golf. The medal measures 1.5 inches in diameter.
The obverse, designed and sculpted by U.S. Mint Sculptor-Engraver Don Everhart, features an image of Arnold Palmer finishing his golf swing with the inscription “ARNOLD D. PALMER.”
The reverse depicts a pair of crossed golf clubs and a golf ball on a tee with the inscriptions “IN RECOGNITION OF HIS SERVICE TO THE NATION IN PROMOTING EXCELLENCE AND GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP,” “92 PROFESSIONAL GOLF VICTORIES” and “7 MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIPS.”
