The lush green and endangered pink Ko’oloa’ula flowers are a nod to her environmental values, as is the depiction of the endangered silversword plant from the arid slopes of Haleakalā.

The reverse (tails) design of the coin depicts Mink holding her landmark “TITLE IX” legislation.
