Theodore Roosevelt – Rough Rider, conservationist, and chief executive. These are just a few of the colorful sides of one of our most intriguing Presidents. This coin and medals set is perfect for any history buff!

This coin and medals set includes one proof quality Theodore Roosevelt Presidential $1 Coin, a 1 ˝” Bald Eagle Bronze Medal from the National Wildlife Refuge System Centennial Medal Series, and, for the first time in United States Mint history, a .999 fine silver Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Medal! Also included in this set is a booklet with rich educational information about the 26th President of the United States highlighting Roosevelt’s legacy as a soldier, statesman and conservationist, as well as a print honoring his military service.

The obverse (heads) design of the Presidential $1 Coin features an image of Theodore Roosevelt with the inscriptions THEODORE ROOSEVELT, IN GOD WE TRUST, 26th PRESIDENT and 1901-1909.

The reverse (tails) design of the Presidential $1 coin depicts a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty.

This coin designs feature large, dramatic artwork, as well as edge-incused inscriptions of the year of minting or issuance, E PLURIBUS UNUM and the mint mark. IN GOD WE TRUST appears on the face of the coin.

The obverse of the Theodore Roosevelt silver medal features his portrait with the inscription THEODORE ROOSEVELT centered along the border of the medal. The reverse of the medal features the inscription INAUGURATED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES SEP. 14, 1901. SECOND TERM MARCH 4, 1905. To the left is Columbia, her right hand resting upon a column bearing a cinerary urn, and devices symbolizing the authority of the United States; the U.S. Capitol is in the background.

The 1 ˝” Bronze Bald Eagle Medal obverse design features Theodore Roosevelt with the inscriptions NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE SYSTEM, CELEBRATING A CENTURY OF CONSERVATION, 1903-2003, and THEODORE ROOSEVELT. The reverse design depicts a bald eagle in flight with a treetop in the background and the inscription BALD EAGLE at the top right.

In 2005, President Bush signed the Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005 authorizing the United States Mint to strike $1 coins honoring America’s Presidents in the order in which they served. This coin, the 26th in the Presidential $1 Coin Program, honors President Theodore Roosevelt.

In 2013, the United States Mint received authority to produce presidential medals in .999 fine silver. They were previously only produced in bronze.

The Bronze Bald Eagle Medal, one of the medals in the National Wildlife Refuge System Centennial Medal Series, was originally offered in 2003 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Wildlife Refuge System.
