Introduced in 2007, the American Presidency $1 Coin Cover Series showcases the new Presidential $1 Coins. Fifth in the series is the 2008 James Monroe $1 Coin Cover. This limited-edition cover – only 50,000 will be produced – features two James Monroe $1 Coins from the first day of production, January 3, 2008. Each cover includes two $1 coins, one each from the United States Mints at Philadelphia and Denver, on a handsome display card with the U.S. 41-cent American Flag postage stamp. Additionally, the cover features a portrait of our fifth President in front of an American flag. The postmark of February 14, 2008, Charlottesville, VA, marks the day the James Monroe $1 Coins were first released to the public.

To ensure that all members of the public have fair and equal access to United States Mint products, any order placed prior to the official on-sale date and time (March 14, 2008 12:00 noon ET) shall not be deemed accepted by the United States Mint and will not be honored.
