American Eagle Platinum Uncirculated Coins are struck on specially burnished blanks. These coins offer precious metal purchasers a new collectible version of the popular American Eagle Platinum Coins.
The coins have a finish similar to their bullion coin counterparts and are available in four sizes – one ounce, one-half ounce, one-quarter ounce, and one-tenth ounce, as well as a four-coin set which contains one coin in each denomination. Each coin bears the “ W” mint mark reflecting its striking at the United States Mint at West Point.
The obverse features Lady Liberty, symbolizing vigilance and faithfulness to duty. The reverse features the same design found on the 2007 American Eagle Platinum Proof Coins, representative of our Nation’s executive branch of government. The design depicts a bald eagle with its wings spread wide to represent freedom with a shield at the ready to enforce the laws that guarantee those freedoms. The 2007 reverse design was created by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program Master Designer Thomas Cleveland and engraved by United States Mint Sculptor/Engraver Phebe Hemphill.
Each 2007 American Eagle Platinum Uncirculated Coin within the four-coin set contains 99.95 percent pure platinum and is encapsulated in plastic. The coins are packaged in a protective presentation case and accompanied by a custom-designed American Eagle Platinum Uncirculated Four-Coin Set Certificate of Authenticity.
