The Jamestown 400^th Anniversary Coins must be issued by December 31^st. In order to meet these requirements, the United States Mint is only accepting orders for this coin until December 14^th at 5:00 p.m. ET. Please note that all credit card and billing issues must be resolved prior to December 14^th.

This $5 gold proof coin commemorates the 400th Anniversary of Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in North America. The obverse depicts an image of Captain John Smith greeting an American Indian who is carrying a bag of corn. Surcharges from the sale of this coin are authorized to be paid to the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Secretary of the Interior and the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities to support programs that promote the understanding of the legacies of Jamestown.
