Commemorative Coins

Commemorative coin programs are created by acts of Congress to honor a person, place or event. Surcharges from the sales of these coins help fund a variety of organizations and projects that benefit the public. Commemorative coins are only available from the United States Mint for a limited time, as specified by public law. Learn more about commemorative coins by visiting our program information pages.

The 2009 Louis Braille Bicentennial Silver Dollar Coin and Braille Education Set are no longer available. The next commemorative coin, the 2010 American Veterans Disabled for Life Silver Dollar, is scheduled to be released for sale in February. Please click the link to read about this commemorative coin and preview the upcoming designs. Check back in February!
