The 2013 Theodore Roosevelt $1 Coin Cover is the 26th issue in the series, which began in 2007. This limited-edition cover – only 22,000 will be produced – features two Theodore Roosevelt $1 Coins from the first day of production at the U.S. Mint facilities at Philadelphia (January 9, 2013) and Denver (February 5, 2013).
The coins are mounted on a display card inside an envelope with the U.S. 46-cent Patriotic Star stamp. The cover also features a portrait of President Roosevelt, and a postmark of May 9, 2013, New York, NY, marks the day the Theodore Roosevelt $1 Coin Cover was issued by the U.S. Mint.
These coins display large, dramatic artwork and edge-incused inscriptions of the year of minting or issuance, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and the mint mark. Each coin features a likeness of President Theodore Roosevelt and has a common reverse (tails) design featuring a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty.
