Order the three-coin set of the 2011 Gettysburg National Military Park Quarters – one each from the Denver, San Francisco, and Philadelphia Mints – to collect or share.
The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War and was one of the bloodiest battles, with 51,000 casualties. The Gettysburg Battlefield Memorial Association, a group of concerned citizens, first set out in 1864 to preserve the battlefield as a memorial to the Union troops who fought there. On February 11, 1865, the battlefield was transferred to the federal government as Gettysburg National Military Park (28 Stat. 651).
Each three-coin set features an uncirculated quarter from the U.S. Mint at Philadelphia, an uncirculated quarter from the U.S. Mint at Denver and a proof quarter from the U.S. Mint at San Francisco with images specific to each national site. The coins are held in a durable plastic card that features a picturesque image and a brief description of the site and the coin, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity on the back of the card.
The America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Set™ is also available through the U.S. Mint Product Enrollment Program. Visit our Product Enrollments page for more information.
